New Security Officers: The Guard Card is the basic security license issued by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services. Guard Card training is the first step new guards must complete in order to submit their application to the State of California. While Guard Card license allows applicants to work as an unarmed security officer, it does not include specialized training for any specific assignment or weapons of any kind.
The first 8 hours (Powers to Arrest & Use of Force) must be completed in person, in a classroom setting, with an instructor physically present, at an authorized training facility. AEGIS does not currently offer live initial Powers to Arrest & Use of Force. This program is intended to complete Mandatory Core and Elective Courses as well as provide a Powers to Arrest & Use of Force Refresher.

Step 2: All Security Officers are required to complete an additional 16 hours of MANDATORY Core Training Courses within the first 30 days. This bundle includes:

- Liability / Legal Aspects (4 hours)
Step 3: All Security Officers are required to complete an additional 16 hours of MANDATORY Elective Training Courses within 180 days. This bundle includes:
- Handling Difficult People (4 hours)
- Officer Safety (4 hours)
- Emergency Procedures (4 hours)
- WMD & Terrorism Awareness (4 hours)
- First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed Review (2 hours) - FREE BONUS
