Mandated Reporting

Security professionals working in educational environments play a critical role in recognizing reportable incidents, protecting students and staff, and ensuring legal reporting requirements are met. 

This module provides participants with practical knowledge of mandated reporting procedures used in K-12 schools and community colleges. Participants will learn how to recognize indicators of child abuse, understand legal reporting requirements for assaults, identify the role of peace officers in the lawful removal of children from school grounds, and follow district-specific reporting procedures, documentation standards, and chains of command.
