Making an Arrest GC NEW

Course Details

This module is designed to train the participant to understand proper arrest procedures, knowing the goal of physical intervention is to control a threatening situation and avoid injury to anyone involved.

This course will teach the participant to:

• Understand restraint techniques and their implications
• Recognize less-than-lethal tools available
• Understand how to conduct proper searches after arrests
• Recognize and understand the Merchant Privilege Rule

Participants will learn to recognize the signs of potentially lethal danger and take appropriate actions, the three kinds of approaches to overcoming resistance and to prevent unnecessary lethal outcomes.
