Intro to Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction
Module Details
This foundational module, developed by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services, serves as the cornerstone of the Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Course. Originating in response to the 9/11 attacks, its primary aim is to equip security officers with the skills to identify, prevent, and mitigate similar threats.
- Origins:
- Developed post-9/11 to aid security officers in identifying, preventing, and mitigating potential attacks.
- Training Requirement:
- Until June 30, 2023, mandatory as part of the first 8 hours of Guard Card training.
- Transition:
- From July 1, 2023, became an elective within the BSIS California Guard Card program.
This transition signifies a move towards a more flexible training approach, allowing individuals to tailor their education to their specific roles and interests.
