Course Details

This module is designed to help the participant understand the definition of an arrest and if necessary, how a security guard could potentially affect an arrest, keeping in mind there are important factors that must be considered before making one.

This course will teach the participant to:

• Understand the definition of an arrest, as well as the procedures and requirements to do so
• Learn the differences between misdemeanours and felonies
• Proper handcuffing techniques

The purpose of this training is not to encourage the security guard to make more arrests, but to teach you the law concerning arrests, so you will know what you can and cannot do under the law.
