Education Institutions

This module equips school security professionals with the legal and procedural knowledge needed to question individuals effectively and within scope. 

By examining California Penal Codes, Education Codes, and best practices in behavioral assessment, students learn to distinguish between appropriate questioning and overstepping legal boundaries. 

 Key topics include:

•  Basis for Decisions (Risk, Threat, and Duties) 
•  P.C. 830.32 A & B, SB 1628, and E.C. 38000–72330 
•  Jurisdictional Limits On and Off Campus, & Local Policies and Procedures
  
   Participants will explore how to make sound judgment calls under pressure and learn to document interactions clearly and professionally. This module reinforces the importance of acting with integrity, neutrality, and respect when questioning individuals in school settings.
